Onomatopoeia in the English and German Nursery Rhymes

    Get PDF
This article is dedicated to the problem of onomatopoeia that is analyzed in English and German nursery rhymes. The material of the research includes thirty texts and has two stages: the first one shows the differences of sound-imitating words types while the second one deals with the syntactic-morphological and semantic characteristics of onomatopoeia in English and German nursery rhymes

Onomatological analysis of the technonyms in the sphere of energetics (based on the Russian, English and Chinese languages)

    Get PDF
The article deals with the results of the onomatological analysis of the names of renewable energy facilities in the Russian, English and Chinese languages. The relevance of the study is determined by the trends in the development of these languages and their onomasiological foundation, which require focused attention of linguists in the context of an avalanche-type enlargement of terminological spheres. The results of the research can be useful for a wide range of specialists in humanities, including interpreters working with terminological thesauri in the sphere of renewable and resource energy

Structural Characteristic of the German-English Hybrids of the Information Security Sphere

    Get PDF
The article describes the results of structural analysis of the German-English hybrid terms of the information security sphere. The obtained data testify to the serious impact of the English influence on German primarily in the peripheral sphere of the German language stock. The hybridity is stated as a result of aggregation of the literary German lexical system and language mixing owning to an invasive borrowing process

Electric Equipment Diagnosis based on Wavelet Analysis

    Get PDF
Due to electric equipment development and complication it is necessary to have a precise and intense diagnosis. Nowadays there are two basic ways of diagnosis: analog signal processing and digital signal processing. The latter is more preferable. The basic ways of digital signal processing (Fourier transform and Fast Fourier transform) include one of the modern methods based on wavelet transform. This research is dedicated to analyzing characteristic features and advantages of wavelet transform. This article shows the ways of using wavelet analysis and the process of test signal converting. In order to carry out this analysis, computer software Mathcad was used and 2D wavelet spectrum for a complex function was created

Neoliberal governance, sustainable development and local communities in the Barents Region

    Get PDF
There are currently high hopes in the Barents Region for economic growth, higher employment and improved well-being, encouraged by developments in the energy industry, tourism and mining. The article discusses these prospects from the perspective of local communities in five locations in the region, which spans the northernmost counties of Finland, Norway, Sweden and Northwest Russia. The communities studied are remote, relatively small, multicultural, and dependent on natural resources. The salient dynamic illuminated in the research is how ideas of sustainability and neoliberal governance meet in community development. While the two governmentalities often conflict, they sometimes also complement one another, posing a paradox that raises concerns over the social aspect of sustainable development in particular. The article is based on international, multidisciplinary research drawing on interviews as well as statistical and documentary analysis

Neutron Age Determination in Fast Reactor Materials using the Group Method

    Get PDF
The article deals with the methods of identifying fast neutron age in sodium (Na) and uranium-238 (238U); describes the model of advanced and effective fast neutron nuclear reactors (FN), where Na is a coolant while 238U is involved in the fuel cycle in large quantities; justifies the choice of the group method for calculating the neutron age value in the substances mentioned above that can show the accuracy of the used constants for Na and estimate various versions of multilevel description of neutron moderation in 238U – the most powerful resonance absorber of the neutron reactor active zone

The effectiveness of absorption heat pumps application for the increase of economic efficiency of CHP operation

    Get PDF
The article deals with a comparative analysis of CHP operational efficiency in various working modes before and after the absorption heat pumps installation. The calculation was performed using a mathematical model of the extraction turbine PT- 80/100-130/13. Absorption heat pumps of LLC "OKB Teplosibmash" were used as AHP models for the analysis. The most effective way of absorption lithiumbromide heat pumps application as a part of the turbine PT-80/100-130/13 turned out to be their usage in a heat-producing mode during a non-heating season with a load of hot water supply. For this mode the dependence of the turbine heat efficiency on the heat load of the external consumer at a given throttle flow was analyzed

Corticospinal excitability after 5-day Dry Immersion in women

In light of the development of manned astronautics and the increasing participation of women in space flights, the question of female body adaptation to microgravity conditions becomes relevant. Currently, one of the important directions in this issue is to study the effects of support withdrawal as a factor of weightlessness on the human sensorimotor system. Dry Immersion is one of the well-known ground-based models, which adequately reproduces the main physiological effects of space flight. The aim of this study was to evaluate the changes in motor evoked potentials of the lower leg gravity-dependent muscles in women after a 5-day Dry Immersion. We analyzed evoked responses to transcranial and trans-spinal magnetic stimulation. In this method, areas of interest (the motor cortex and lumbosacral thickening of the spinal cord) are stimulated with an electromagnetic stimulus. The experiment was conducted with the participation of 16 healthy female volunteers with a natural menstrual cycle. The thresholds, amplitudes, and latencies of motor potentials evoked by magnetic stimulation were assessed. We showed that 5-day exposure to support withdrawal leads to a decrease in motor-evoked potential thresholds and central motor conduction time, although changes in motor response amplitudes were ambiguous. The data obtained correspond to the results of previous research on Dry Immersion effects on the sensorimotor system in men

The comparison of complexities of the Chinese and Russian languages on the example of terminology of chemistry

    Get PDF
The article presents the examples of comparing chemical terms in the Chinese and Russian languages and the results of two experiments conducted with Chinese and Russian students. The first part of the work deals with a comparison of the one-component chemical element names from the periodic table. Then, it continues with dividing different chemical terms in Chinese into several groups: two-component, three-component, four-component, multicomponent group and comparing them with its analogical terms in Russian to analyze the main difficulties in understanding these terms in both languages. The second part of the work presents the main difficulties, revealed during two experiments, conducted with Chinese and Russian students. The students were given texts in their mother tongues with a chemical context, which they wrote and read noting the time. At the end of the work, all the advantages and complexities revealed in the results of the first and second parts of the work were calculated. Similar language comparisons are becoming more relevant in the last few years, for they contribute to development of methods of analyzing languages and discovering new and improved approaches to the study and use of languages
